PermalinkA shipment of 2,000-pound bombs arrived in Israel from the U.S.
over the weekend, the first such shipment since former President
Joe Biden put a hold on the heavy munitions.
President Donald Trump lifted the hold on the MK-84 bombs when
he entered office, restarting the flow of the heavy bombs to
Israel. On Sunday, Israel’s Defense Ministry announced the
arrival of the first shipment of 2,000-pound bombs in roughly
nine months.
“The munitions shipment that arrived in Israel tonight, released
by the Trump Administration, represents a significant asset for
the Air Force and the IDF and serves as further evidence of the
strong alliance
. . .
Looks like "hell breaking loose" was not just
rhetoric ... Hamas & friends take notice.
"The Mark 84 can form a crater 50 feet (15 m) wide and 36 ft
(11 m) deep. It can penetrate up to 15 inches (38 cm) of
metal or 11 ft (3.4 m) of concrete, depending on the height
from which it is dropped, and causes lethal fragmentation
to a radius of 400 feet (120 m)" ...

These apparently can be incorporated into a 'smarter',
somewhat steerable, weapon by adding a few components,
most notably a 'wing'-looking nose cone.
