F-22 Raptors May Not be Able to Overcome Russia's Su-35 After All;
Severe Shortcomings America's Most Advanced Fighter Emerge During
Operations in Syria ..

With heavily armed Su-30 and Su-35 fighters flying regular sorties
over Syria, combined with the deployment of Russia's most sophisticated
long range air defence systems to its military facilities including
the S-400 and S-300V4, the balance of power in the skies over Syria was
in Russia's favour despite the relatively small size of its
expeditionary force - which even by 2017 numbered just 6000 personnel.
Reports from official U.S. sources such as the Centre for Strategic and
Budgetary Analysis indicate that the Russian Su-35 is more capable in
air to air combat than any fighter in the American or NATO inventories
- with the sole exception of the F-22 Raptor fifth generation air
superiority fighter. ..

Air Force began to fly its most advanced air superiority platform over
Syrian and neighbouring Iraqi airspace on combat missions. The F-22 was
expected to shift the balance of power firmly in favour of America and
its allies .. While it is by far the most capable Western fighter in
service, the a number of performance issues have affected the Raptor's
ability to counter the Russian fleet over Syrian skies. Foremost among
these are the F-22's extreme maintenance requirements, which make sorties
more than once a week extremely difficult - exacerbating their numerical
disadvantage. A comparison of the Su-35 and the F-22 further indicates
than an advantage for the American platform is far from certain in the
event of an engagement. ..

So nothing prevents Su-57 to exceed expectations as well.

Admiral Warns America's East Coast Is No Longer A "Safe Haven" ..

A senior U.S. Navy officer says that his service no longer considers
the East Coast of the United States as an "uncontested" area or an
automatic "safe haven" for its ships and submarines. This is a product
of steadily increased Russian submarine activity in the Atlantic Ocean,
including the deployment of more advanced and quieter types ..

.. A large number of Navy submarines, ships, and maritime patrol
aircraft spent weeks in the fall of 2019 attempted, without success,
to locate the Project 885 Yasen class guided missile submarine
Severodvinsk after it reportedly deployed into the North Atlantic. The
type .. is known for having an especially low acoustic signature. ..

MANILA, Philippines - President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday disclosed
that US President Donald Trump is trying to "save" the Visiting

"Ngayon, I'll make it public. Because public official ako. Si Trump,
pati yung (including) others, are trying to save the Visiting Forces
Agreement. Sabi ko, ayaw ko (I said no way)," Duterte said ..

With a range of 900 miles, the DF-21D Chinese missile is perhaps
enough to cause second thoughts about the deployment and use of
[aircraft] carriers in the South China Sea or the Western Pacific.
Additionally, a carrier strike group must contend with the threat
of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy. One may conjecture
that, given the rate of Chinese military modernization and
advancement, the range of acceptable circumstances for a carrier
strike group to operate will grow smaller. This leads to an
uncomfortable conundrum for the U.S. Navy. ..

...

Conundrums will grow stronger while the American decline deepens.

The Philippines has officially notified the United States about
the termination of the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) between
Manila and Washington ..

<http://tinyurl.com/rqu6r5l> inquirer.net

With the scrapping of the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), .. the
Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT) between the Philippines and the United
States "will now be reduced to a mere paper treaty." ..

...

So the American servicemen will no longer be able to commit crimes
in the Philippines with impunity, and it's a notable step towards
Philippine real independence from the US neocolony status.

American officials would keep strained smiles on their faces, but
one can expect now the US would start regime change machinations,
so the Filipinos need to be prepared to such developments.

Philippines military supports President Rodrigo Duterte's decision ..
- The military chief backed President Rodrigo Duterte's termination of
the 1998 Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA)
- He said doing so would allow the Philippines to expand its modernisation
program and its engagement with Australia and Japan
- Armed forces commander, General Felimon Santos, said planes and ships
were being procured from countries other than the United States ..

...

Of course, China is in focus there. The main argument of the Philippines'
pro-US faction is that China is such an issue. If the China's government
plays cleverly, then the PH's pro-American faction will wane.

Russia's S-400 systems and Resonance radars conquer the Middle East market

A drone attack on Saudi oil refineries last September showed that the
American Patriot air defense systems are not able to provide an adequate
level of protection for important facilities. .. It is noted that Russia
plans to sell in the Middle East radars designed to detect cruise missiles,
drones, as well as hypersonic targets. ..

.. the latest over-the-horizon radar stations "Resonance-NE" ..

Experts agree that the Russian S-400 would have shown the best result. The
Russian system has three times the range of action, and can also work on
targets moving twice as fast as those that Patriot can work with. The
deployment time of the S-400 is only five minutes, and the American complex
takes an hour to bring to combat readiness. ..

After 18 years of war, Taliban gets US to leave ..

The Taliban, which appeared to have been chased out of Afghanistan in 2012,
is winning. This is an extraordinary turn of events, as the US has sought a
deal with the Taliban, ignoring its own allies in the Afghan government ..

On Saturday the Taliban arrived at the Sheraton in Doha. They didn't speak
with the Afghan government delegation .. This shows their end-goal and
agenda. They will retake Afghanistan ..

The US has lost thousands of soldiers in the conflict in Afghanistan, with
tens of thousands wounded, including many contractors. The war is America's
longest in history. Along with other wars launched as part of the global
war on terror, it costs trillions of dollars. .. Much of that is now a lost
or sunk cost. ..

The reality appears to be more a Taliban victory. While the US still has
movies like "12 Strong" .. the reality has shifted greatly. The Taliban act
like the government of Afghanistan ..

The deal hinged on reducing violence, basically begging the Taliban .. to
give the US to leave Afghanistan without appearing to be chased away. ..
The US wanted a peace with "honor" and to get a pause in violence so it
wouldn't appear to "lose" the war. .. The US .. could have probably left in
2003 and the situation would have been largely the same. ..

...

The fact the Americans have spent a huge lot of resources in the Afghanistan
affair (along with other infamous mideastern wars), has greatly contributed
to the present day American decline.

Besides, I think even this 'deal' with the Taliban won't work as expected.
